On  March 10th and 11th, 2011, a two day Symposium was held at the University of Birmingham UK on 'Religious Pluralism and the Modern World: an ongoing philosophical engagement with John Hick'.    After a Welcome by Anita Bhalla, the High Sherriff of the West Midlands, papers were given by Prof. Marilyn McCord Adams, recently Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford University, now at the University of North Carolina; Professor and Dean Chester Gillis of Georgetown University; emeritus Professor Paul Badham of the University of Wales; Professor Paul Knitter of Union Theological Seminary, New York; Professor Stephen Davis of McKenna College, Claremont, California; emeritus Professor George Newlands of Glasgow University; Professor Perry Schmidt-Leukel of the University of Munster, Germany; Dr Alan Race of the St. Philip's Interfaith Centre, Leicester, UK; Professor Julius Lipner of Cambridge University; Dr Yujin Nagasawa of the University of Birmingham, UK; Dr Sharada Sugirtharajah of the University of Birmingham, UK; Professor Mary Ann Strenger of the University of Louisville; Dr Timothy Musgrove  of TextDigger Inc., Silicon Valley, California;  Dr Anastasia Scrutton of the University of Durham; Professor Zhicheng Wang of Zhejiang University, China; Dr Geoff Teece of the University of Birmingham, UK; Professor Gavin D'Costa of the University of Bristol; and emerita Professor Ursula King of the University of Bristol.
